What determines the cost of a clothing-store website?

Compare quotes using product variants, checkout, fulfilment, content entry and inventory integration rather than page count alone.

Arvax editorial team · Updated

A catalogue with a contact form and a store with checkout, customer accounts and warehouse integration are different projects. Compare quotes against the same written scope before comparing their totals.

Catalogue versus checkout

A catalogue introduces products while orders finish elsewhere. A transactional store must coordinate baskets, stock, payment outcomes and fulfilment. Page count alone does not capture that work.

Product data and variants

List the sizes, colours, codes, prices and stock records required for each model. Agree who enters the initial catalogue and how many products are included. Photography, copywriting, cleaning spreadsheets and measurement charts may be separate tasks.

Inventory and shipping connections

If a physical shop also sells the stock, identify the source of truth. Integration depends on the inventory system's documentation and access. Define what happens during outages, simultaneous orders and returns. Flat-rate shipping, regional pricing and a carrier integration also have different scopes.

Costs after launch

Ask separately about hosting, domains, messaging services, maintenance, backups and later changes. Bug fixes and new functionality should have clearly defined support terms.

Compare deliverables

Request an included-feature list, exclusions, content responsibilities, acceptance checks and maintenance terms. Send Arvax a sample product catalogue and your existing order process for a scoped estimate. This guide intentionally does not invent a fixed price without those details.
